Chairman – Mr. R. Gnanasekaran

Mr. R. Gnanasekaran is the respected Chairman of Two Leaves Trust – Two Leaves for Life Foundation, and the founder and Chairman of Grand Smile Foundation, which operates the Grand Smile Kind Home. He is a dedicated and visionary community leader who has long been committed to uplifting the lives of people in the Haldummulla, Idulgashinne and Haputale regions of Sri Lanka. Born and raised in Haldummulla, R. Gnanasekaran has always remained deeply rooted in the culture, struggles, and aspirations of his people. His personal experience growing up in the region gave him a firsthand understanding of the needs of retired estate workers and the nearby village communities. He pursued his education at the prestigious St. Joseph’s College, Bandarawela, where he developed a strong foundation in leadership and discipline. Professionally, R. Gnanasekaran serves as a Plantation Administrator and General Manager, a role in which he has earned wide respect for his management skills, integrity, and deep care for the well-being of those working under him. Despite his professional commitments, he has always devoted his time and energy to social service, particularly toward the retired plantation community and underprivileged families in the surrounding areas.
  1. Gnanasekaran is a close associate of Mr. Manik Jayakumar, a Sri Lankan-born individual who now resides in the USA but remains deeply connected to his homeland. In 2015, on September 7, with the shared desire to give back to their native region, Mr. Manik Jayakumar formally established the Two Leaves Trust, with R. Gnanasekaran taking leadership as its chairman. Since then, he has guided the foundation with humility and firm dedication, ensuring that the values of compassion, accountability, and service are maintained.
  2. Gnanasekaran is also the founder of Grand Smile Kind Home, a care facility designed to support and protect the most vulnerable—especially those who are aged, isolated, or destitute. The home reflects his belief that no one should be forgotten in their final years.
To further strengthen the vision of these initiatives, R. Gnanasekaran has appointed Godwin D. M. Junior, the son of the late Mr. Godwin R. Samuel (a local missionary leader and early supporter of the Trust), as the coordinator of projects. Godwin Junior works closely with both Mr. Manik Jayakumar and R. Gnanasekaran to ensure the continued success and integrity of all efforts. With quiet leadership and deep commitment, R. Gnanasekaran remains a strong pillar of service, striving to connect lives and restore dignity to the forgotten through his leadership in these community-based efforts.
